Sculpture by the Sea, Sydney
Inside a Radio Wave was commissioned for Vertel and installed for Sculpture by the Sea Bondi in Sydney. The modular event structure and pavilion was fabricated for multiple event assemblies. The project was a collaboration between Chris Fox and Willea Ferris from AandU Studio. It was developed in consultation with engineers, Sculpture by the Sea staff, Waverley Council and the client Vertel. The project addressed the site concerns and event requirements, while maintaining the integrity of the structure as a dynamic marker for Vertel.
The form is a representation of analogue and digital signals combined in a single twisting radio wave. Two larger figure of eight structures form the main perimeter shape, with a third smaller twisted form interweaving between the two, dividing the space.
