Our Team

Emma Hancock

Business Development Manager

Emma joined SCF upon her return to Australia in 2022 after more than a decade living in the Caribbean coast region of Colombia. Emma’s career as an independent consultant and artist has engaged her in the realisation of public art projects at various scales in Australia, the USA, Europe and Latin America. She has previously worked in communications and graphic design roles within the Australian architecture and homewares industries. Emma is a lifelong traveller, and deeply curious about people, art, culture and language. She works remotely for Studio Chris Fox from Brisbane, Australia

Yuxiao Wang

Project Lead and Computational Designer

Yuxiao joined Studio Chris Fox in 2019, working across a number of projects from design to delivery. Her favourite times are spent in a hard hat and orange vest, that is when she gets to work alongside the builders and fabricators to bring intricate geometries to life by translating complex computational design into practical fabrication and building methodology. Yuxiao holds degrees in both Master of Architecture and Master of Interaction Design and Electronic Arts, which brings diverse expertise bridging across built environment and creative computational design.

Chris Fox

Artist and Founding Director

Chris Fox is an artist and academic with 30 years experience in the built environment navigating the complex constraints of the public domain. He is passionate about transforming our cities, towns and landscapes through artful thinking and collaboration, to design and deliver landmark interventions of wonderment and beauty. Chris founded the multi-disciplinary design studio, Studio Chris Fox with the aim of transforming the built environment, bridging the disciplines of art, architecture and engineering. The studio utilises an innovative computational workflow to create structures that push the boundaries of what seems physically possible, whilst telling the meaningful stories of place and people through time. Chris is also a Senior Lecturer in Art Processes and Architecture at the University of Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning.

Tommaso Pagani

Project Lead and Computational Designer

Tommaso studied Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, where he completed the Bachelor and Master degree. During the master thesis he started to develop his passion and knowledge about computational design and digital fabrication. At Studio Chris Fox, Tommaso worked on Interchange Pavilion, especially on the timber fabrication process. He likes beautiful design and he is interested in how new technologies and materials can improve architecture and our life in the future.

Studio Chris Fox was founded by artist Chris Fox with the aim of transforming the built environment, bridging the disciplines of art, architecture and engineering. Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the built environment, navigating the complex constraints of the public domain to design and deliver landmark interventions of wonderment and beauty.

The studio has a rich skill set that includes strategic art-thinking and computational processes that impacts urban design, architecture, landscape and place making. We transform places with sculptural form that push the boundaries of what seems physically possible, whilst telling meaningful stories of place and people through time.
